Antique Booths Blue Dragon Pattern Porcelain Lidded Tureen Pattern No. 9780 blue white china 1920s

This is an antique blue and white porcelain tureen by Booth's in the pattern Dragon, pattern number 9780. This will be ideal for serving your cooked vegetables, and pasta or for serving salad. The tureen is blue and white with a gold trim and decoration on the lid and handles. The lid and base have a lovely dragon and floral design. The lid has a circular knop finial with a leaf design at the base. The handles have blue stripes and a leaf design with gold dots and trim. The lid has two gold bands one on the rim and one further in. The base has a gold band on the rim, unfortunately about half of it is worn away that is commensurate with age and previous usage, and the other half is fine and bright, see photo 4 for the wear. The tureen is fully backstamped on the base, see photo 10 for the actual printed mark and pattern number. Size: 13cm maximum height (at tallest point - the top of the knop finial) approximately 25.7cm maximum length (handle to handle) approximately 21.1cm maximum diameter The tureen weighs 1088.0g Condition: There are no cracks or chips on the tureen, There are very light and minimal utensil marks present. There are some lines of glaze crazing on the exterior and the underside of the lid, with partial discolouration to the exterior lines, which are shown in photo 7 and ringed in red. There are some blue factory marks in places on the lid exterior and interior of the bowl/base. There is some wear to the gilding, as already mentioned on the tureen bowl/base rim (shown in photo 4) and on one handle, shown in photo 8. There is some very minor wear to the gilding elsewhere. There are some marks on the base ring, see photo 9 for an example.
