Mentha piperita cv 'Chocolate Mint' is a wonderfully easy-to-grow garden herb that has a decadent chocolate-mint fragrance and minty flavor. Use Chocolate Mint for culinary uses such as mixed in with teas, breads, desserts or with fresh fruit such as strawberries. Excellent dried or fresh. Chocolate Mint will readily make itself at home in full sun to partial shade in moist soil. Most gardeners don't have any trouble growing it, but it can get away from you if you are not careful. We recommend growing all mints in a contained area or planting them in a large pot in the ground. All mints perform best when they are harvested or cut back at regular intervals. Remove old woody plants to allow newer, younger plants to fill in. At the end of the growing season, cut Spearmint plants back to ground level.
